I am absolutely with you. So the title of your blog at the moment should say de-stocking, not re-stocking?
Although if everyone would buy and sell at the same time, the prices would be awful. Lucky you are cleverer than others! Matt and Rebecca sold some cows two weeks ago having the same mindset!
I’ve been cycling through farmland in New Zealand and I see they all feed the stock in small strips with up to 100 plus animals. The grass here is very lush. There is evidence however of a lot of slips/ erosion on the land due to the effects of rainfall being higher over the last 12 mths. They also feel the effects of the La Niña. They are big into land management.
We went to nz about 15 years ago and they were just starting to improve but the land had been very badly managed. A very fertile country so clearing timber really caused some damage. The beauty of fertile country is that it recovers quickly. Quicker than marginal country.
