Hi, I’m new to permaculture and wanted to start with planting pioneer plants local to Gympie/Curra. I understand that these will be hardy and help to condition the soil. Could anyone tell me how/where to find a list of local pioneer plants? Any guidance would be much appreciated. Thanks.

      Hi Linda,
What are you aiming to eventually establish?
For example: a food forest,a native sclerophyl forest, a rain forest,a vegetable garden.

You could try corella native nursery. He should know. Or Landcare. It does also depend on what you want the end result to be, as per Serge’s reply. If it’s pioneer species that you’ll eventually get rid of in a syntropic manner, there’s probably plenty of plants that are not native nor local that would do a better job.
