August is typically dry and often windy so I’m mindful of protecting plants and retaining moisture this month with crop covers and mulch. There is an abundance of winter vegetables that continue to do well this month but it’s also a time to sow some of our favourite warmer season crops and of course flowers. I try to get all my big projects finished before the warm humid weather arrives. In the attached PDF, I share some seasonal growing tips for our local climate, what to plant, issues to watch out for and garden tasks for this time of year. Dig in!
Happy gardening, Anne
